look here...

 It's been a year today

since our boyo was diagnosed with T1D

that's 12 months or 52 weeks or 365 days (and nights)

of multiple daily injections and finger prick BGL tests
and carb counting and hospital visits and hypos
and learning to live with the new normal...

But it's also been 12 months or 52 weeks or 365 days (and nights)
of him being his usual swimming, running, jumping, kicking,
body-boarding, bike-riding, ball-throwing, music-making, hound-loving
fabulous, fun-loving, farming sassy-boyo self!

Some friends know that things haven't always been peachy every one of those 365 days

and I am so very grateful for their words of support and encouragement

and the tiny parcels of thoughtfulness that seem to have popped up out of the blue
(and turned a grey day around)

like these words of peace from fiona

In the mail today was a little book of up-looking

thank you aimee -

how special it was to open this parcel of thoughtfulness
on this day

  3. Can't believe I missed this one...life flies too fast. What a year, and amazing to know how strong and resilient you all have been; the daily angst and balance - so good to know he is just being himself, out here and doing it! Go well.
